DANGEROUS CHOICE OF WORDS
Recently President Trump made a statement the whole world heard. He said that Israel would not exist if it were not for America and Him personally. I am sure he meant well, but those are dangerous words. Neither he or this nation has anything to do with Israel’s existence. If anything the U.S. owes its existence to Israel. But both nations owe everything to God for their existence.
The reason those words of President Trump are dangerous is he is claiming credit for what God has done and God won’t share His glory with anyone. Now I don’t believe Donald Trump realized what he did in saying that. But he needs to learn and not do that again. I don’t know if anyone has told him … talked to him about it.
Ambassador Mike Huckabee sort of rebuked him saying that the U.S. would not exist without Israel. I agree with that. I believe America is righly blessed because of our relationship and treatment of Israel. Obama and Biden were certainly exceptions. How we treat Israel is most important. God has said that He will bless those that bless Israel and He will curse those that curse Israel. That applies to individual people as well as nations.
I firmly believe that God raised up Donald Trump as America’s President. I also believe that God can just as easily remove him from leadership if given reason to. Hopefully He will find no reason to.
One thing we all need to remember is that there is great power in our words. Even in the secular application such as “Loose Lips Sink Ships”. And once our words leave our mouths they are most difficult to take back. The damage they can cause has usually already begun. We can apologize and ask for forgiveness, but the damage has already happened. Yes, we need to choose our words carefully. It is much easier to prevent damage from occurring than it is to do damage control afterwards.

I think it would do us all good to read this book. It seems we all have much to learn. However it definitely would be best to approach it with a clean slate … with preconceived notions or beliefs. We need to be “teachable”.
As to what President Trump said, I think I know what he meant by what he said, but it sure didn’t come across as such to most who heard it. Definitely it was wide open for a different interpretation.President Trump has done much for Israel during his two terms in office … more than any President in our history.
