Can you dig it, man? Through the centuries man has dug up a lot of sites all over the world. Ancient cities have been discovered as well as lots of ruins of all sorts. As a result we have learned things, proven things, disproven things and much more. Naturally there has been a great deal of archaeology taking place in what is known as the Holy Land area. Many great finds have happened over the years.
Archaeology is like science in that it always agrees with the bible and totally backs it up. Never does either oppose the Sacred Scriptures. Both archaeology and science have proven the bible to be true, accurate and trustworthy.
Science as we know it and believe it has not always been correct. Many time scientists misunderstood things and mislead and misinformed mankind for many years before the truth was learned and they got things right. Many mistakes and errors were made as a result. Many lives were lost as well. I have written about this matter before, but sadly it was all removed from the internet by the guy who took over my Tadpole Rider website. The interesting thing about science being in error is that the Holy Scriptures had it right all along. As time past this was realized and was the reason science eventually came to the truth. Some examples are flat earth vs. a sphere, the water cycle, blood letting and much more.
Archaeology is a part of science. Over the years our earth tends to bury things and what once was on the surface ends up far underground. Entire cities and civilizations have been unearthed. Devoted men and women work at meticulously uncovering that which is buried. If you have ever watched a video of these people at work you know it can be very tedious being careful not to disturb or damage what they find. Throughout Jewish history they have had their city, Jerusalem, destroyed by an enemy and their temple destroyed a couple of times.
It definitely is not something everybody would find appealing. However, it can be very rewarding and somewhat exciting. I am sure it can also be very boring as well.
Archaeology has changed the hearts of many as they become convinced about any doubts or questions they had about the bible. There is only one source of truth in this world and that is the one and only true God … the God of the bible. There are a few other religious books but none are trustworthy. Only the bible passes every litmus test.
