FRIENDS & ENEMIES
If we are truthful, most of us can say that we have both friends as well as enemies. That is to be expected. After all there are people we like and people we don’t like. And there are people who like us as well as people who don’t like us. We and they may or may not have good reason for our feelings and positions. I mean like … what makes an enemy an enemy?
Did you know that God also has friends as well as enemies? I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be God’s friend than His enemy. Do you have any idea what it takes to be God’s enemy? You may be surprised as it is simply to be unforgiven … having sin in our lives … sin that separates us from God. Enmity is the word God uses. Because of sin … our sin … we are at enmity with God. Romans 5:7 reads “For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.” And “Friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4) Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God”. We must make peace with God by accepting His Son Jesus as our Savior and receiving His forgiveness for our sin. Then we change from being God’s enemy to His friend … which is much more desirable.
Are you God’s enemy or friend? “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31 “That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I Am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24 “For the wages of sin is (eternal) death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
I AM that I AM has spoken! There’s no one like Jehovah!
