Most of us have sight. It may not be as good as it once was and may be getting poorer and poorer as we age. For certain, eyesight is a true blessing and help to us to appreciate and comprehend things. Anyone who has once seen with their eyes, but has lost their vision knows how significant this gift is. Our understanding and comprehension is greatly effected. We may be blind in more ways than one. For someone who has never had eyesight find themselves at a great disadvantage as they never had this helpful benefit.
Think about it. What if we came upon a beautiful scene such as fall colors in nature. If we could not see it we could not begin to comprehend what we are being exposed to. Yes, our cry might become OPEN MY EYES, I WANT TO SEE.
We may have excellent physical eyesight and able to see most things. I say most things because most things refers to non-spiritual things. To see spiritual things we need spiritual eyesight. This is not something anyone is born with. If fact, just the opposite is true. We are all born spiritually blind. God calls it naturally minded and spiritually discerned. He says the natural mind can not understand or know the spiritual things of God.
There are a couple of songs that come to my mind as I write this. One is “Open the eyes of my heart, Lord” and the other is “Open my eyes, I want to see Jesus”. Being spiritually blind hinders us from coming to a saving knowledge of Christ or even understanding anything which is spiritual.
Out of the mouths of babes … Satan robbed from him thru the evil of drugs, but Jesus has His hand on him now. He may deal with the effects of the devil’s power and evil, but he will be totally healed when this life of earth ends.
Both of these are powerful songs. They are songs we can claim and use as prayer in our lives. Yes, just call on the Name of the Lord Jesus and ask Him to open our eyes so that we may see Him and find Him. Actually it will enable Him to find us as we are the lost sheep and He is the good shepherd. We are not seeking Him, but He is seeking us. Our hearts must be right before He can find us.
I just now came upon a song I had never heard before. It is another song about opening our eyes.
Because of sin we are all born spiritually dead. We need to be reborn … “born again” to become alive unto God.
Young Christopher featured in the first video is featured in this next video as well singing the same song. In the video his aunt states that he has “perfect pitch”.
My eyes were opened when I was 29 years old. Now I sing a brand new song unto the Lord and before man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord! In this next video he sings the same song again, but I will spare you from listening to that portion of the video.
The devil’s mission is to deceive, kill, steal and destroy. Chris shouldn’t be here according to his testimony, but as he says … he is. In this video below which is 5 years old you can see that Chris is now an adult and still serving God. He was 20 years old in this video.
Whatever Satan means for bad God can turn it around for good. No Jesus, No Peace. Know Jesus, Know Peace! To God be the glory, great things He has done. Only He can open one’s eyes. Are your eyes open?
God alone is able to open eyes that they may see Him and the things concerning Him. And He is quite willing to do so … just waiting to be asked. He will open your eyes if you ask Him to.
