DOES GOD EXIST?
Many years ago (about 1977) I came upon the ministry of John Clayton who was a science teacher in South Bend, Indiana. He specialized in Physics and Earth Science. He was once chosen as National Teacher of the Year. After 41 years of teaching he retired from it and went on to serve God in the ministry God led him into.
He started out as an atheist who set out to prove through science that there is no God … that God does not exist. He felt confident he could do so, but to his surprise as he looked into everything he found himself faced with the truth which eventually won his heart. He saw for himself that science and the bible are completely in agreement and support one another. He became a strong believer and follower of Christ. In time (1968) God led him into ministry using his knowledge and expertise as a scientist to prove to doubters that God does indeed exist. His writings are fascinating as he encourages others to take a good look at the truth and ponder over it. Where there is design there is a designer. John is an author of many publications as well as a lecturer and debater. One offshoot of his ministry is Dandy Designs where he offers examples of beauty and design in nature. I find it especially fascinating. I remember in particular his article on woodpeckers … such an amazing design.
Most of John’s materials are free of charge. Even though he first looked at science to prove that God does not exist he eventually looked at God’s Word , the bible, where truth shook him to the core as the bible is no ordinary book. Yes, men wrote it, but not by themselves … they wrote as God, the Holy Spirit, led … inspired them. Man could not have written the bible by himself if he wanted to and he would not have written it by himself if he could have.
John says that the purpose of his ministry is to provide evidence to open-minded, thinking people that God does exist — that the Bible is His word and that science and belief in God are compatible. Yes, one has to be OPEN-minded … not closed-minded. God can’t get thru to those who are not open to receiving the truth. Hard heartedness blinds people from the truth and damns them to hell.

Are you open-minded or closed minded? All of eternity depends on it. There is plenty of evidence that demands a verdict.
