ANGELS ALL AROUND US

ANGELS ALL AROUND US

I remember as a child reading the book Angel Unaware written by Dale Evans (Roy Roger’s wife). She wrote it after losing a child in death. I grew up living as an atheist the first 30 years of my life so angels were not something I believed in nor had any interest in. Now 49 years later in life I no longer have that attitude, position or belief. Now I am not one to worship angels and spend effort and time studying them or pursuing anything about them as some people do. Truthfully I give very little thought or attention to them.

But I do believe in them. Why? Because God’s Word tells us about them … that they exist and are God’s servants. And they minister unto God as well as unto us. (Psalms 91:11) They carry out assignments He gives them. Most of those assignments are here on earth as God intervenes in the affairs of men. God’s Word tells us that sometimes we entertain or interact with an angel without even knowing it. Angels are able to take on various forms and appearances. They might appear as another human being. They might appear as an animal of some kind. We have no idea and rarely have a clue that they are an angel. Angels are often depicted by man as feminine, but the bible always describes them as masculine and never feminine.

Satan (the devil) himself was originally one of God’s special angels. His name was Lucifer which means light bearer. He was the heavenly worship leader. You can read about Lucifer’s rebellion in heaven HERE. Satan has angels too as a third of the angels in heaven joined him in heaven to rebel against God. Of course, God is too powerful for them and He kicked them all out of heaven. Satan’s angels serve him and his agenda.

It is said that we all have a guardian angel. I don’t know if that is true or not. Certainly angels do watch over us. I am most thankful for that. I know that more than once an angel kept me from death or serious injury.

During war time Israel in known to have had thousands of angels assisting them appearing as soldiers which the enemy observed and so they thought they were greatly outnumbered. Then there are stories of criminals seeing very large sized guards (angels) watching over places where the criminals had intended to burglarize or otherwise carry out their criminal activities. They reported that seeing these large guards scared them off.

The bible describes various times and events thru out history where angels were involved. Jesus, Himself, appeared as an angel at various times. He was and is called “The Angel of the Lord”. It is said that there are angels all around us. We just can’t see them. Again there are testimonies where God opened up the eyes of some people so that they can actually see the angels and they were amazed at what they saw.
