To sum it up in one word … well maybe two … awesome and complex … extremely complex. The more we study and learn about the human being the more this becomes apparent.

Even Google acknowledges it …

“The phrase “fearfully and wonderfully made” comes from Psalm 139:14, which expresses gratitude for the intricate and marvelous way in which God creates each person. This verse emphasizes the uniqueness and value of every individual, highlighting that we are crafted with care and purpose.”

Indeed, our bodies and our minds are extremely complex … fearfully and wonderfully made by an awesome Creator. And to think we started out as dirt … for God formed us out of the dust of the earth. Why did God make man out of the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7)? Man is the only thing God created in a different way than He did everything else that exists. He made a special effort and took care in creating man. It was a “hands on” undertaking. With everything else He simply spoke it into existence. To top it all off He created us in His image making us special.

He said in His Word that man was made a little lower than the angels. God made the angels before He made man. An angel is a very special being. They are very powerful and can do mighty things man could not possibly do.

Satan himself used to be an angel … a very special and powerful angel. Like human beings angels in the beginning possessed free will. Satan’s original name was Lucifer which means light bearer. As powerful as Satan is He is no match for God. He found that out when he rebelled against God and God kicked him out of heaven.

There is coming a time when God will use just one angel to deal with Satan and cast him into a bottomless pit. Until then Satan is here among us and very much active. But I am not here writing about Satan, but rather man. We can have power over Satan. Notice I said can and not do. No one should even attempt to go up against Satan in their own power and ability. Only God is more powerful so we need God’s help to have any hope. And God offers it! His Word says “greater is He (Jesus, God the Son) Who is in you (born again children of God) than he (Satan) who is in the world.
