YOU CAN’T MAKE PEACE WITH THOSE WHO WANT TO KILL YOU
It is probably not something most people think of, but it certainly makes sense … a lot of sense. The very first prime minister (Golda Meir) of modern day Israel is known for that quote. If anyone knows and understands this it is the Jewish people. And right along with that you can’t make deals with the devil. He can’t be trusted. The one and only answer to such evil is complete destruction. There in lies the problem. There just never seems to be complete destruction … only partial … allowing him to keep coming back and causing problems.
I am talking about wicked evil regimes such as is in Iran. Don’t get me wrong … even if this evil is completely eliminated doesn’t mean another won’t rise up and cause trouble. Iran has been telling us for nearly 50 years that they intend to destroy both Israel and the U.S. Anyway, my concern is we won’t totally destroy this existing regime. We are already dealing with them bringing a cease fire and allowing them to regroup and make their plans. And you can bet they up to no good. You can’t deal with the devil!
So what is the answer? I already gave it … total destruction … but it won’t happen. Why not? That is a good question … one I wish I had the answer to.
Back to what Golda said … when someone is driven by hate there is no way you can deal with them. And they certainly can’t be trusted. Where does hate come from? I will give you a clue … it does not come from God. You can’t deal with the devil! Iran is continuing to shoot missiles into Israel. That needs to stop. Iran needs to have this ability ended. I don’t know what that would involve, but I know that between Israel and the U.S. we have the ability to do it. Will we? We will see. Probably not. All I know is they can’t be trusted. You can’t make deals with the devil!
So far I have been talking about the Iranian regime. But that is not the only threat and concern we have the devil to blame. The devil is very involved in the affairs of men. After all he is the god of this world. He exists to deceive, to steal, to kill and to destroy … nations and individuals. Most people don’t believe in the devil. That makes his job all the easier as his work is far along in the life of those who don’t believe in him. No, he is not dressed in a red suit and holding a pitch fork. I have never seen him that I know of. He is likely dressed like any ol’ everyday person. He is capable of appearing as an angel of light … one of God’s angels … making him super dangerous. He can easily fool most people. We are no match for him. He is the enemy of our soul. His desire is to take everyone he can to hell with him. And that is exactly the eternal destination of all who have ignored or rejected God’s salvation. The saddest part will be to see multitudes of people die without Christ and end up in hell. No, you can’t make deals with the devil and you can’t make deals with God either. He has made the deal and told you what it is. You can take it or leave it. It is entirely your choice. Just know that when you die all the crying out to God asking for mercy and telling Him you are sorry for your sin will fall on deaf ears. It will be too late then. He offers a fabulous deal right now … the best deal you will find … but it is a limited time offer. It is the only deal available … the only deal God offers. When you think about it … exchanging our unrighteousness for His righteousness is one great deal! It costs us nothing, but it cost God His very life while He dwelt among us on earth for 33 years. He suffered greatly and died to purchase our salvation. What will you do with or about it?
