We hear that music calms the beast. It seems that music has been around forever. But where did it begin? Where did it originate? How did it originate? And why did it originate? Obviously music has been a part of our lives for a very long time. Can we possibly know when it first began? How far can we go back in history? How about to the very beginning when God created man? You can’t go back any farther than that. I can’t say exactly when the first bit of music came along. It might have been the wind making some kind of noise. It might have been a sound coming from heaven. I don’t know. But I know this … God gave the song. In the bible (God’s Word) the book of Psalms is music … songs sang unto the Lord.

The truth is Jesus is the song … a gift given to man. Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a song about it …

I personally find that to be a very powerful song. I especially like the narrative parts Bill or his wife, Gloria do. No, that song can’t be stomped out as God proved to the world. It is here forever. God gave the song! And it is not going away. I love that song. It blesses my soul day in and day out … day after day. It is the source of music!

Life isn’t always easy but God is always faithful. Even when God hears our cries He turns our sighs into a song …
