We hear about it on the news frequently but what is it exactly. It is a dangerous choke point in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman controlled by Iran.
“The Strait of Hormuz is 104 miles long, with a width ranging from 60 miles to 24 miles. It is around 33 kilometres or 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, making navigation here dangerous and difficult. It also has strong tidal currents and unpredictable swells, along with reduced visibility due to summer dust storms and morning haze. Ships have to slow down and sail carefully to avoid accidents or collisions. For safety reasons, a traffic separation scheme has been implemented, wherein inbound and outbound vessels use two different lanes, each only 3.2 km or 2 miles wide, separated by another two-mile zone. On the Strait’s north coast lies Iran, and on the south is the Musandam Peninsula, shared by the UAE and the Musandam Governorate, an exclave of Oman. There are three major islands in the Strait, the Hormuz, Qeshm and Larak Islands, all of which belong to Iran, enabling it to control the strategic waterway, along with its navy, which uses small, fast-moving vessels equipped with missiles and drones to patrol the waters.”
Too bad that the protruding point of UAE can’t just be removed and open up this area much wider.
As we know most of Iran’s Navy has been eliminated but it is very costly to lose a ship. Consequently no one seems to be anxious to sail thru that area. The 2 mile wide lane for travel may sound like a lot of space, but it is not. Ships, especially large oil tankers don’t maneuver well. They turn slowly and can cover a lot of ocean in the process.
We certainly know that the Iran regime can’t be trusted. President Trump has asked other nations that use this waterway to step forward and help insure the safety of vessels traveling there. So far there doesn’t seem to be much interest for such support.
The U.S. and Israel have done a great job taking out most threats in Iran, but did you know that Iran has huge underground facilities in the mountains where they manufacture, store and can fire ballistic missiles. They store many drones there as well. And they are processing uranium in these underground facilities to be used in making nuclear weapons. One video I watched said that they had 51 ballistic missiles at one facility. It is said to be too deep underground for our most powerful bombs to reach. That is scary! And who knows what else they have down there? It was mentioned that they could possibly use a few of the bunker buster (MOAB) bombs … one right after the other in the same location … each one reaching deeper and deeper until they break thru. Those MOABs don’t come cheap but we must do whatever it takes to destroy this enemy and their capabilities … not just for the U.S., but for the entire world.
Man may not be able to reach these underground facility, but God can. A powerful earthquake could destroy them all and bury them forever. And that is my prayer … a powerful earthquake, but only effecting these sites … unless there are other concerns we don’t know about. Another possibility is for some of their own explosives to detonate setting off all the explosives they have blowing everything including the mountain into tiny pieces.
Iran’s population is said to be about 93 million people. The land size compares to that of Alaska. Iran is a neat country and the Iranian people are nice. However, this regime is satanic and evil. They are most dangerous to the entire world. They must be stopped … completely destroyed.
UPDATE – The day after I posted this article I saw where the U.S. claimed that it destroyed the largest underground facility destroying all threats it offered. Huge explosions underground happened as the U.S. bombs did their job.
