When I was growing up there was a popular TV comedy show called “Car 54, Where are you?” about two policemen assigned to work together who drove the police car number 54. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I am writing about other than to say the name brings to mind something which is similar to my title to this article. Calling all cars was a well known police call over the radio they used. The police dispatcher was trying to get the attention of all available units.

God is doing the same thing. He very much wants the attention of every unit He created … the unit being us, human beings … you know, the ones He created in His own image. When the police dispatcher makes the call to all cars it is followed by additional information or instruction. The police then know what it is they are supposed to do … what is going on … what to expect … how they are to be involved. All that is because it is their job.

God, however, is communicating with us out of love. Some have referred to the bible as God’s love letter to man. Today, as I write this is Feb. 14th … Valentine’s Day. Here is a Valentine’s Day card from God to us …

God is love and He is just. He didn’t just create us and then abandon us. He walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Even after man sinned He still pursued man, but sin separates us from God. God hasn’t and can’t change. He still wants a strong healthy loving relationship with each one of us. As I said, sin separates us so God did something about it. In short, He did His part. Now it is our turn to respond back to Him. Here is a love letter from Jesus …

Yes, God is calling all hearts. Will you respond to His bidding? He alone offers you such a deal. And you won’t find a better deal anywhere … not even close. He is a complete gentleman and won’t force Himself on you. It is your decision to make. You can accept and receive what He offers you or you can ignore it and reject it. It is your choice. Rejecting it comes at the highest of costs … your eternal soul. Why would anyone choose to go to hell over His invitation to heaven?
