Do you ever find yourself disagreeing with God? Maybe you have thought that sex without or before marriage is ok and should be allowed. We could probably come up with a list of things. The problem is God has His own list of Dos and Don’ts. And if you don’t realize it you have a problem … He is God and you are not. It is a simple, but profound statement and truth.

My late brother in law used to tell a story about toasters. These toasters were made in a factory and were animated. The man who owned and operated the factory knew the toasters inside and out. Why wouldn’t he? He created them from scratch. He gave these toasters a lot of freedom allowing them to do many things. They had a good life. He gave them one stern warning however. Since they were toasters they got very hot and uncomfortable. They found out about a lake they could go to and cool off. Now that water really felt good and their thinking was what could possibly be wrong with something that feels so right? But the one who created the toasters lovingly told them not to go cool off in the lake as it would cause great damage to them and they would stop working. When that happened they would be thrown into the junk pile. Yes, the one who created them knew that their heating elements were made out of steel and would eventually “burn out” ending their lives which they loved. He made a deal with them … a sort of contract. He told them that if they keep themselves pure and obey him he will take them unto himself and give them new special heating elements that will last forever. But they got so hot and the water felt so good that most of them chose to go to the lake and cool off. Yes, going into the water felt so good, but just as their creator had said their heating elements would rust out and stop working. Most of them disobeyed and ended up on the junk pile. However, those that chose to obey kept going until their natural end at which time the factory owner kept his word to them. He gave them eternal life and brand new heating elements. There was no junk pile waiting for them.

The God Who created us knows what is good for us as well as what is bad for us. He is God and we are not! Just like the toasters we are promised new glorified body with no pain or sickness or disease.
