Some people insist in placing themselves under the Law of Moses. I am not here to argue against the Law of Moses. I truly believe that a person can get to heaven by obeying the Ten Commandments. There is only one problem … no one can keep the Law of Moses. God knows this. The reason God gave the law is to teach us this.

I like to use the chain illustration to prove this. A chain is stretched out between heaven and hell. Each link of the chain is one of God’s laws. God is pulling the chain upward toward heaven and hell is below. Those who trust in the Law are at the very bottom of the chain holding on being pulled upwards toward heaven. As long as the chain stays intact the Law will save us. But if just one link of the chain should break we plummet to hell. Have you ever broken one of God’s laws? What about lying? What about lying as a young child? Sorry, you will end up in hell. Have you ever sworn or used God’s Name in vain? Sorry, you will end up in hell. Are you a faithful church goer? Sorry, you will end up in hell. Have you ever stolen anything? Sorry, you will end up in hell. Have you ever envied and wanted something someone else has? Sorry, you will end up in hell. Have you ever committed adultery … not necessarily the physical act, but just in your thoughts? Sorry, you will end up in hell.

So, I ask you … do you really want to trust in the Law of Moses to save you? I would rather trust in the grace of God.God knows we can’t obey the law. That is why He came to earth to save us. He offers us help and hope which we desperately need.

God’s Law can’t save you, it will only condemn you. You need God’s grace. We all need the grace of God. Jesus said “I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me. For there is no other Name given among men by which we must be saved.”
