I started my own welding business within a year or so after getting out of the Navy. I was in business for more than 25 years. I loved having my own business … being my own boss … and doing what I loved. It was great. I never have liked working a normal job for somebody else. I was one of the best weldors around and did excellent work. I was fair and honest and always kept my price lower than my competition. With all of that one would think that I would be very successful, but alas, it was a hand to mouth existence all thru the years. Oh, I got busy from time to time and thought … finally my business is taking off, but it always slowed right back up. Never the less, I was able to buy the welding equipment and supplies I needed and kept improving what I had to offer to my customers as well as what I had to work with. I had the nicest well equipped mobile welding truck I have ever seen.

I am telling all of this because I want to share with you my testimony of the faithfulness of God all those years. Of course, I had bills to pay and often times I didn’t have the money to pay them as they were coming due. But every time a bill was coming due God was faithful to supply my need just as He says He will. It was usually an 11th hour situation, but God always came thru.

I got married having told my wife how it was in my welding business. At first she was really upset and concerned … scared, but she observed God’s faithfulness and it increased her faith to where she became comfortable and at perfect peace with her life as my wife. We went thru a lot together over the years and God was always there providing for us.

I am a strong and firm believer in putting God first in my life. That includes my finances. I have always tithed giving God the first fruits of my labor. He promises to bless us if we do this. There were times when there was not enough money to give the tithe and pay bills. I always chose to give the tithe even if I could not pay a bill. And always God came thru in providing the money needed to pay those bills. My wife didn’t agree with me in the early days. She thought we need to pay the bills and let the tithe go … catching up later, but I told her no, we were going to be faithful to God and give Him His tithe. Again, she learned that important lesson.

God is not a respecter of persons. He is just and fair and treats everyone the same. Remember the song … “It is no secret what God can do … what He has done for others … He will do for you?”

I remember that song from my childhood. I was about 5 or 6 years old. My mother had that record by Eddie Fisher. God’s Word says it, I believe it, and that settles it for me. He is a good God!

There are only 2 roads available in life. One is a superhighway most people travel. The other is just a narrow path only a few travel. They lead to entirely different destinations. Which one are you on? Have you heard of the Roman road? I highly recommend it. It can help you in deciding which of those 2 roads you want to travel thru life and make the switch between them.

Did you know that Jesus spoke more about hell than He did heaven? Does that surprise you? There has to be a reason why He did so. I think He wanted to warn us … clearly … to be sure He drew our attention to it. It is so very real and so very important. After all, eternity is involved.

Jesus gave us a lot of truth to ponder. What is Truth?

In these times we are living in there are a lot of homeless people. We see them everyday. Why so many? How did it happen? Not always, but usually it is the result of making some bad and wrong choices/decisions in life. God can make a difference … a big difference. He can turn things around if we would only turn to Him. He can supply our every need. Thousands can testify to that. Sadly, most will never turn to Him. Satan has a firm grasp on them, but God is only a prayer away regardless of what is going on in our lives. We need to know and understand that there are only 2 things in life to worry about.
