Ever since Jesus came the first time and said He would return again there have been those who thought it would be soon since that is what He said. It has been 2000 years and He hasn’t come yet. Where is the promise of His coming? That is a fair question. The bible has the answer to most things in life. Let’s take a look at this subject.

Yes, He could have returned long ago but there were still people to be saved and they needed the time. God is just and fair. When He returns there will be no more people on earth getting saved during this dispensation of grace we are now living it. That is one of the reasons He hasn’t returned yet.

Besides that God is not effected by time like we humans are. God is eternal. With God all time is now. So a thousand years is like a day to Him and a day is like a thousand years to Him.

The bible is the only source of truth mankind has. You may not like or have any use of the bible, but I ask you … have you ever read it? I suggest to you that you start in the gospel of John (not 1 John, but John) in the New Testament. Do so prayerfully asking God to show you the truth … to understand what has been written. Try to approach it without anything which effects you such as what you have always thought, what you have been taught … what you have heard … just an open slate … an open mind and receptive heart. I would even suggest to you that you start reading the bible in the Living Bible version which is a paraphrase. It is written in a way that is easier to understand.

Hopefully you are not a mocker as described in 2 Peter 3:4. If you are, know that you are proof of the accuracy of God’s Word. You are a fulfillment of prophecy in these End Times … Last Days. No one knows when Jesus will come for His people. All that can be said is that we are one day closer with each passing day.
