DO YOU FEAR GOD?

We hear the phrase ‘God fearing’ person, people, nation, etc. Thruout history there have always been those who do not fear God. God says that “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. He also warns “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”. He further says that “A fool has said in his heart that there is no God”.  Proverbs 1:7 teaches, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Reverence for God is foundational to a wise and righteous life. I ask again … do you fear God? Do you use His Name in vain? Many many do. He warns us that He will hold those responsible for doing so accountable. Do you speak negatively and harshly of Christians, churches and/or pastors?

There is a story in the bible where a bunch of boys were mocking a prophet of God. That prophet prayed unto God about this ugly confrontation and cursed the boys. Suddenly two black bears showed up and mauled 42 of the boys. The remaining boys and all who heard about this learned that it is dangerous to mock God or His servants. They had great disrespect for God which came down to blasphemy. You can read about it HERE. We need to be careful how we conduct ourselves … what we say, what we think, what we do. No, God doesn’t take kindly to disrespect toward Himself or His servants. Yes, that was long ago, but God does not change. He has wiped out many people thruout history … evening opening up the earth and having them fall down inside the earth.

God doesn’t send anybody to hell. Anyone who goes to hell chooses to. You say you don’t believe that? He gave us free will as the ultimate expression of His love for us. And nearly everybody has heard the Gospel Message. And since we were young children we have known the Holy Scriptures … that they are able to save us. We are without excuse. We can choose to repent and get saved, but most people will ignore and/or reject Jesus’ offer of salvation. It is their choice. It is your choice. What have or will you do with Jesus? Someday your heart will be asking … what will Jesus do with me? If today, you hear His voice, do not harden your heart. Do not put it off. You may not have another chance to make the choice for Jesus. You may not have a tomorrow and death ends your opportunity to get saved. Call on His Name today while you can. The graveyards are full of the bodies of those who though they had plenty of time.
