Ever since man developed nuclear weapons we have lived under the constant threat of nuclear war. Even the tests of these weapons which have been carried out are extremely scary. Nuclear fission used in the right way can be a blessing but used in the wrong way … well, it makes me shudder.
It is said that when Hiroshima was bombed by America near the end of WW2 people within 1 mile of the blast site were charred … their skin burnt off of them and melting away.
We hear of suitcase bombs that are distributed around in the hands of terrorists planted by dangerous countries. Now that is scary as these people have shown how dangerous they are. Only by the grace of God nothing has happened as of yet.
And then there are countries who have nuclear capabilities and threaten to use them. Will it ever happen? Let’s look at God’s Word where we read: “But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed d by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. 11Since everything will be destroyed in this way, … when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. 13But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.. “
There is another verse about flesh (skin) melting off the bones but I can’t find it right now. Anyway, it sounds just like a person exposed to a nuclear blast. I thought it was in 2 Peter but I can’t find it.
Personally I thought that the destruction of this earth and all of life by fire at the end of this age was the result of God causing it to happen … not man. And I thought that this nuclear event was man made, of course, which God would have to intervene to keep man from completely destroying all life on earth. In other words two entirely different events at different times. Regardless it is going to happen. God is in control! He always has been and always will be.
No man will not destroy all life on earth, but only because of God’s intervention. Otherwise it would indeed happen. I am glad God is in control and not man. How about you?
We are all descendants of Adam & Eve, but we are also the descendants of Noah and his wife. God hates sin. Remember only 8 people were spared back when the universal flood happened. Only those who were on the ark survived. Every other person and al of life including animals (except those who live in water) were destroyed by water. It will happen again only it will be by fire then.
God is still building an ark of sorts where people can enter and be saved from this destruction. That ark is referred to as God’s church as well as the body of Christ. It is open and available to you. Itis free to join. It only takes 1) repentence (being truly sorrow for your sin which is rebellion against God) and 2) calling upon the Name of Jesus asking Him to forgive you and come into your heart.
God has promised to remove those who belong to Him before He pours out His wrath (anger) on this Christ rejecting world.
Yes, this world is destined to be destroyed by fire, but you don’t have to experience it. God know your heart. He know whether you are sincere and serious with Him. You might be able to fool mother nature but you can’t fool Him. He stands before you with open arms.
And if and when you ask Him into your heart He will warmly embrace you (in the Spirit) and welcome you home into His flock.
