We truly live in an information age. And we have much history recorded … written down … and readily available to be read. There are probably millions of books and names are recorded in them telling of their contribution to this world we live in. Of course, these books are all written by man.

Do you know God has various books He keeps? His Word says that someday we will all be judged out of those books. There is one book in particular that has a great effect on that judgement. It is called “the book of life” and it has many names written in it. Those names are those of men, women, boys and girls who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and made Him Lord of their lives. Their sin has been forgiven and they are assured eternal life with God. It also means that they won’t be judged for their sin like those who never accepted Jesus as their Savior. That is a big deal. It is the difference between heaven and hell as those whose names are not in the book of life will spend eternity apart from God … in hell. God has told us that the wages of sin is eternal damnation in hell. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

So I ask you “is your name written in God’s book of life?” It can be. If not you will be judged out of the other books God is keeping. He has the goods on everyone of us.
