I do so for a specific reason. God has said in His Word that some will be won (convinced, pursuaded) thru love while others will be won thru fear. We are all different and although most will be reached by means of God’s love some will only be “arrested” by fear that God is able to use. I have no idea what it is going to take in anyone’s life to reach them with the Gospel message. That is why I try to use both approaches.

Yes, God loves us, but we need to understand that He is holy and pure … meaning that He can’t and doesn’t allow sin in His presence. That is why the matter of sin in our lives is so important. Most of know what working for a wage is … we get paid for doing work someone is willing to pay us. We get what we have earned … what we deserve … what we have worked for. We work for the man and we get paid by the man. It is no different with God. God is just and fair. He also pays us a wage for what we do. How, you ask? God tells us the wages of sin is death. He is not talking about simply dying at the end of our lives. That is what Satan would have you to believe. God is talking about eternal death with judgement to follow. Now that is not something to get excited about, but to fear. Yes, God loves us and wants very much for everyone of us to spend eternity with Him … and we can if only … if only we are willing to deal with the sin problem. Sin is the reason we need a Savior. Sin separates us from God. Everyone of us need to confess and acknowledge before God that we are guilty of sin and need His forgiveness.

There are a lot of different things taught and believed by man about all of this, but there is only one source of the Truth. We can be very sincere in what we believe, but if we are wrong all we are is sincerely wrong. Satan will supply people with all sorts of things to believe to keep people from the truth which can save their eternal soul. We can live our entire lives apart from God and might do fairly well thanks to the grace and mercy of God. Even though our sin makes us an enemy of God He still loves us and cares about us and to some extent even cares for us. After all He provides every heartbeat and every breath faithfully thruout our lives. That is an average of 70 years. Some of us live longer while some of us die much younger. He created us with a body that heals itself from most sickness, disease and injuries. It even rebuilds and replaces itself periodically.

Yes, we can live our lives apart from God and think we are doing fine. The problem will surface like a cold slap in the face when we get to the end of our life and are standing before the judgement seat of Jesus Christ. We must all answer to Him and give an account for what we have done, what we have said and what we have thought … everything … every moment … every second of our entire life. And He has been keeping the books … the records … the evidence … (even on video) to prove to us that the charges against us are true and accurate. He is both the prosecutor and the judge, but He will go by the Book … the bible, that is. He will use His very Written Word to judge us.

Now that is bad news especially when we realize there is only one sentence for those who die while still in their sin. Scripture is very clear … those that die in their sin will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

But there is also good news … no one has to face and receive this judgement. Those that come to Jesus for His forgiveness and salvation won’t participate in this judgement. They will have a different judgement … not for their sin, but for what they have done as a believer and follower of Jesus. They have to answer to Him, but they will spend eternity with Him. Now that is good news indeed! We all have that choice, but don’t put if off. You may not be around tomorrow. None of know when we will draw our last breath. We have no assurance of tomorrow. It is very dangerous to play Russian roulette with your eternal soul. Graveyards are full of the bodies of people who thought they had plenty of time. Don’t join them! Call on the Lord while He may be found.
