If I were to ask most people the question … “Will you go to heaven when you die?” … most people would probably say “I hope so”. I am here to tell anyone who answers like that that it is very doubtful in you don’t know for sure. Many years ago I read a small booklet by the title “The Know So Christian”. It, of course, is based on what the Holy Scriptures say. The truth is WE CAN KNOW! We don’t have to go thru life just hoping so. God wants us to know and He made a way that we may know.
What is that way, you ask? We all know what a witness is. A witness is someone who testifies as to something as to whether or not it is true or really happened. If and when we get saved God puts His witness inside of us to let us know for sure that we are saved. If we don’t have that witness the chances are pretty good that we aren’t. I think there can be exceptions to that. I have come across people who were struggling with the matter. I have conselled and helped them work thru this.
Satan is real and he fights against the believer. One of his favorite weapons is to put doubt in mind. If he can get us to doubt what God has said in His Word He has attained a victory. When we doubt God’s Word that makes us ineffective. When we doubt God’s Word it is the same as calling Him a liar. It is so important that we know what God’s Word says and that we believe it.
So how do we know if we are saved? I could take the time and go to the effort to write an answer to that, but why bother as others have already done it. HERE in one such source.
