Do you like surprises? For me, as I am sure is true of most, it depends upon what the surprise is. Some surprises are most welcome while others are dreaded. Hey, that’s life!

There is a joke I think you will find funny … “An Italian, a Scotsman, and a Chinese guy are hired at a construction site.
The foreman points out a huge pile of sand and says to the Italian, “You’re in charge of sweeping.”
To the Scotsman he says, “You’re in charge of shovelling.”
And to the Chinese man he says, “You’re in charge of supplies.”
So the foreman goes away for a couple of hours and when he returns, the pile of sand is untouched. He asks the Italian, “Why didn’t you sweep any of it?”
He replies “I no hava no broom, you saida to the Chinese guy that he wasa ina charge of supplies, but he hasa disappeared and I no coulda finda him nowhere.”
The foreman turns to the Scotsman and says, “And you, I thought I told you to shovel this pile.”
He replied, “Aye, ye did lad, bit ah couldnae git masel’ a shuvl! Ye left thon wee Chinese mannie in chairge of supplies, bit ah couldnae fin’ him onywhar.”
The foreman is really pissed off now and storms off towards the pile of sand to look for the Chinese guy. As he approaches the mound, the Chinese guy leaps out from behind the sand and yells…
“SUPPLIES!””

God apparently likes surprises too. He tells us in His Word that Jesus is going to return, but He doesn’t tell us when. He says that it will be a complete surprise … happening when we don’t expect it. He warns us to be ready. Just to be fair to readers of this page post the return of the Lord is referring to Jesus coming in the air … not to the earth to pour out His wrath on those who rejected salvation (that will happen later) … where He will call His children up to meet Him in the air before taking them to heaven. The rest of the world will only see and notice that many people are gone all of a sudden. The world will be in real chaos. You can bet that the devil will come up with some fake news story to explain it away rather than tell the truth. This return of the Lord has to be a secret … a surprise … as if we knew when it is going to happen we may live a careless unresponsible life right up to that time and then straighten our life out knowing it is time for Jesus to return. Of course, that would not work as God would not go along with it.

It would be like the person who is type 2 diabetic who eats all the sweets they want to and then stop with the sweets just a couple of days before the A1C is checked. My mom used to do that, but of course, the A1C test always caught her. She could not fool the test, but she sure tried … every time.

No, we can’t hide anything from God. If we don’t understand, know and believe that now we certainly will come judgement day. God will even be able to show us on an instant playback providing evidence. There will be no way to deny it. He will have the goods on us. We can’t and won’t get away with anything. But we won’t be surprised as God told us ahead of time starting as a young child for most of us. We will be without an excuse … caught like deer in headlights. Don’t get caught!
