Can you remember back into your childhood when you heard the voice of your mother calling you to come home as it was suppertime. My mom was a good cook and I really liked so many of the dishes she used to make for us. I miss eating those dishes. I have been blessed though. I have a wonderful wife who is a great cook so I am still eating wonderful meals. Never the less, I miss some of the meals my mom used to make. The late George Younce was known for singing this song. Here is one of his last performances of it. Of course, George was known for singing hundreds of gospel songs over his long career as the bass singer of the infamous Cathedral Quartet. I did not know that Ernie Haase was his son-in-law until I watched this video. Ernie is another amazing singer with a great voice.
Yes, mothers called their children to meals, but more importantly the heavenly Father will someday soon be calling His children to supper. It will be a grand banquet and the meal of all meals. Don’t miss it! However, as I said it is only for God’s children. Many people will miss it. How sad! But there is still time to get your invitation. Actually you already have the invitation. All you have to do is respond to it … RSVP. If you choose to accept God’s invitation He will write your name down in the Lamb’s Book of Life He is keeping. That is the only way you can be apart of it. Did you know that those who are not God’s children are the devil’s kids. No benefits come with being Satan’s kids. All he offers is pain and misery and suffering … for all eternity.
Yes, the Father’s banquet table is all set in heaven and the Father would love to call you home for supper. The choice is yours.

Having Jesus in our lives makes a huge difference. Up until the time we ask Jesus to come into our heart and life we are a “self made person”, but when we submit to Him and allow Him to take control of our life He goes to work to recreate us. Many of the things we used to like doing we no have any interest in. Some of the people we used to like to be around are replaced by new friends who share the same values and beliefs as we do. Places we used to like to go to we no longer want to go there. Here George sings about these changes in our lives.

When I watched the Bill Gaither videos over the years I saw lots of people I have known as Christian singers … many of them very well known and popular. As the years have passed by most all of them have joined George in death. Of course, it happens to all of us. We all have an appointment with death sooner or later. There is no escaping it. The most important thing is to be ready for it.
One thing I grew up with most meals is delicious dessert. When ridding the dinner plates after eating sometimes I would hear “Keep your fork!” Mom would say that as she knew dessert was coming … yep, she saved the best for last.
For those who are saved they too experience the best for last. Beyond the sunset eternity awaits us.
George Younce was ready for his appointment with death. Are you? Being ready is only a prayer away. Praying is simply talking to God. He is a good listener and is waiting to hear from whoever will call upon Him. He is the ultimate multitasker. He is never too busy for us. He is an amazing God. His love is amazing. And it is AIMED AT YOUR HEART.
