HATE CRIMES and OTHER RIDICULOUS ACCUSATIONS
If I were driving by your house at 2 A.M. when you and your family were sound sleep and I noticed flames coming thru your roof would you be upset with me if I stopped and knocked loudly on your door and/or windows trying to wake you up rather than allow you to continue to sleep on and likely perish … would you think I am acting in hate toward you? Of course, not. Yet many people make such an absurd accuasation when someone who loves them and cares about them tries to wake them up before they perish for all eternity. How can anyone call that HATE? Yet many do. The ones that hate and are guilty of it towards those trying to awaken them are the ones that are hateful. We live in a messed up turned around world.
Canada just very recently passed legislation concerning the bible and this hate crime nonsense. The devil wins again.
The bible is not a book of hate. It is a book of love … it is God’s love letter to us. Yet again there are those who say that anyone who used God’s Word to speak to others about what God says about sin is being hateful. No, my friend, just the opposite is true. God does not hate us. He loves us and gave us His written Word to show us that love … to help us to understand that it is sin that He hates … not the sinner. There is a huge difference! Lot of us love our sin. God wants us to hate sin like He does. When we truly understand sin the way God does it all becomes far different. Sin is rebellion against God.
We have to understand that God is holy and pure. It is because of this that He can not permit or allow sin in His presence. Adam chose to disobey … to rebel against God. He chose to eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God told Adam that is he were ever to eat the forbidden fruit that he would die. Yes, that included his physical life, but more importantly it was “spiritual death” God was talking about and emphasizing. Taking a bite of the forbidden fruit cut off all close intimate communication and fellowship Adam originally had with God. God had created Adam in His own image and loved Adam dearly. He looked forward to their fellowship together each and every day, but Adam’s disobedience brought it to an end. God wanted it back so He did something about it. He was motivated by love, not hate. God is love and He loves us every bit as much as Adam and Eve. He wants daily communion and fellowship with us as well. That is why He died in our place … taking on the punishment and consequence of sin … our sin. Yes, each and everyone of us are sinners. Only God can make things right between us and Him.
Again it is not hate … it is love! He did what was needed to make things right. He did His part. Now it is our turn. We need to respond to Him … to His great love, not hate. Don’t be one of those who call good evil and evil good. Like the family sound asleep at 2 A.M. … “Hey, wake up … your house (YOUR SPIRITUAL HOUSE) is on fire!!!” Don’t get mad at the message or the messenger. Be glad you are loved (not being hated) … loved enough so that Someone is trying to keep you and your family from perishing. Wake up, wake up!
