Do you know that you can change fathers? Just by asking … just by inviting … just by receiving … that is all it takes to change fathers. You might ask why you would want to change fathers as you may be perfectly happy with the father you have. But you don’t understand. I am not talking about your earthly father … your parent … who brought you into this world. No I am talking about a different father.

When Jesus was living on this earth He said some pretty bold things. For instance, He told the Scribes and Pharisees that they were of their father, the devil. Jesus said that because it was true. Anyone who is unsaved has the devil as their father. The devil owns them and their soul. Without the salvation Jesus alone offers everyone of us will die in our sin and end up in hell. Lost sinners have the devil for their father. Jesus said that we can have a new father … His Father. Wouldn’t you much rather have God the Father as your Father then have the devil as your father. Certainly no good can come of that. I can’t think of anyone I would want less than the devil for my father but most people have exactly that. It’s easy to change to another father. All that is needed is to call on the Name of Jesus confessing your need of forgiveness for the sin in your life and asking Him to save you.

I sure don’t want the devil owning me nor my going around representing him in all I say or do … and even think. I am glad I switched fathers many years ago. What a difference it has made!
