LET’S GO TO THE MOVIES
I have always enjoyed watching good movies. I have certainly watched a lot of them in my lifetime. I like several different genres, but probably my favorite is westerns. I was just thinking how things used to be … having to pay long distance charges to call someone in a town just a few miles away. And now we can call someone on the other side of the world for free. And now there are a whole lot of movies we can watch online for free. There are even a few sources most people don’t know about where we can find a particular movie for free when it is not free on common sources we use. There is even archives where movies can be found that can’t be found anywhere else.
When I was in the navy I continued to watch a lot of movies. Once while stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station north of Chicago I went to a civilian theater to see the movie, Earthquake which had just come out. I went into the theater part way thru the movie and needed to find a seat, but having walked into a dark theater after coming in from the bright sunlight outside my eyes had not yet adjusted and I could not see to find a seat. I just stood at the back of the theater waiting for my eyes to adjust. As I stood there slowly I started seeing the area near me. I could see that there were empty seats clear in the back so I sat down in one of them not knowing the reason why the seats were empty. It didn’t take very long to find out. They had placed large speakers back there which suddenly sounded off quite loudly when the earthquake began. It scared me half to death. BTW, what happens when you get scared half to death twice?
