Have you ever seen that word before? Do you know what it means?Maranatha is an Aramaic word meaning “Come, Lord” or “Our Lord, come.” It expresses Christians’ hope and longing for Jesus’ return and their love and devotion to Him. I have also heard that it means Come quickly Lord Jesus. There are many people who certainly want that. I do, but I don’t. God the Father knows when is the right time. There are still people dear to me that I would like to see get saved so for their sake I don’t want Jesus to return right away. Otherwise I would love to see Him return right now.

Like the heavenly Father, I would like to see everyone repent and get saved. I know that won’t happen which means if they continue to live they will have to go thru the 7 year long period of time when Jesus pours out His anger and wrath of all who have rejected His offer to save them.

It is so sad when you think about it. God in His great love for us offers salvation and most of us say no to Him … that we prefer to go to hell instead. He paid a tremendous price for our salvation. Can you blame Him for getting very angry when we reject His offer?

Remember … Mercy is not giving to us what we deserve (hell) and Grace is giving us what we don’t deserve (heaven). Only Jesus was able to pay the price of our salvation. Only He met the requirements. And in His great love for us He was willing to pay the price. Have you ever read what that cost was? Here is a video which tells about that cost.

We all believe in justice and want to see justice served in our society. God believes in justice too. That is why we are all hell-bound. That is justice … getting what we deserve. Justice, Grace and Mercy … which do you want? If you want justice you are all set. You don’t have to do anything. But if you want God’s grace and mercy you need to call on the Name of Jesus to be saved. It is your choice!
