Remember seeing those bumper stickers … “God is my co-pilot”? When it comes to flying an airplane a co-pilot isn’t the one in charge. The pilot is. So if God is said to be the co-pilot right away we have a problem. God needs to be the pilot not the co-pilot. God needs to be the One in charge … in complete control. He needs to be the One sitting in the pilot’s seat … not us.

Satan is the one who should take full credit for that bumper sticker. He loves it when he can successfully mislead people. Whoever did create it certainly does not have a proper understanding of the subject. A whole lot of people have bought into this message and as a result are deceived and remain lost in their sin at worst or certainly misguided at least. Unless they change seats they will remain in charge of their life and probably end up in a crash landing. And they may not be able to walk away from it.

Jesus is the head of the church and we are to follow and obey Him. It has always been that way. He leads and we follow. He knows the way and we don’t. That brings to mind a popular song …

Sadly that song is not sung much anymore. There is nothing wrong with the song. It is very scriptural. We still sing in the church where my wife and I go. I wish we sang it more however.

Yes, I would much rather follow someone that knows the way than someone who doesn’t. I could journey on and on and still end up totally lost and in deep trouble. That is why it is so very important we know who we are following. There is only one real true Jesus, but there are impostors out there and they have many followers … the lost leading the lost. Some are a part of a cult. Some are a part of a false religion. If you are following a false religion it will lead you to eternal damnation. Included among them are Jehovah’s Witness, Mormonism, Roman Catholicism, Buddhism, and many many more.

When we are walking in truth we are following God, not man. All false religions are man made. Only Christianity is of God and is true. False religions may or may not have someone they call Jesus, but the problem is their Jesus is not the Jesus of the bible. And even if they claim the Jesus of the bible they add or remove things from God’s Word which is damning. Everything taught and practiced must be in accord with the bible. God warns us about adding to or taking away from what God has said. Anyone who does so is accursed.

That is why it is so important for everyone to know the bible. Satan can easily deceive us and lead us away if we don’t. It is important to know the real thing so we won’t be fooled by a counterfeit. God has said to us … Seek the Truth for the Truth will set you free. Jesus said of Himself … I AM the Truth, no one comes to the Father except thru (by way of) Me. So as you can see it is imperative that we have the right Jesus.
