Do you remember playing Hide n Seek as a kid? It was a lot of fun. It was challenging trying to find a good hiding place making it very difficult for the opposing team to find you. Some players were better than others at it. No matter how good we were at it we were all eventually found. Oh, there were no doubt exceptions where the opposing team gave up, but it was rare.

But that will never happen with God. It is impossible to hide from Him. That is because of His attributes … those truths about Him … where He is … what He knows … what He sees, etc. God is omnipresent. That means He is everywhere … not just every once in awhile, but all the time. There is no place we can go to get away from Him. He is even in hell. Yes, I said hell.

He is all seeing … nothing escapes His notice … not even when a sparrow falls to the ground in death. So there is no place we can find or go to where we can hide from Him. God sees everything we do, He hears everything we say. He even knows every thought we have. And what is more, He is writing it all down keeping a record about each and every one of us. We are all in deep trouble. He has all the evidence against us and it will be used when we stand before Him in judgement. That is bad news!

But there is good news! We can get off the hook. All that evidence can be thrown out and not used against us. We can have the slate wiped clean and start all over. All we have to do is to acknowledge before God that we are guilty of rebelling against Him … committing sin. Of course, along with acknowledging our sin we need to be remorseful … being sorry for sinning against God. We must sincerely desire to stop sinning. Remember God knows whether or not we are serious and sincere. We need to ask Him to forgive us and save us. It is so simple yet probably the hardest thing any of us will ever have to do as we are dealing with our pride. We have a choice. We choose our eternal destination … heaven or hell. Choose wisely. Choose now. Tomorrow may be too late.
