Can you imagine God using a known murderer to serve Him? He did. Moses committed murder. David ordered the murder of Bathsheba’s husband. How about an adulterer? Again, He did. David was an adulterer. How about someone who stammers? Abraham stammered. The truth is God uses ordinary and imperfect people. So we have no acceptable excuse. Yes, God uses ordinary people.

This song was one of the songs sang at my wedding. A sister in the Lord who used to be a nightclub singer sang it. She went from serving the devil to serving God.

When God has called various people to do whatever He wanted them to do, several of them tried to make excuses why they could not do what He wanted. They all tried to say that they were not qualified. God isn’t looking for someone who feels qualified. He is looking for someone who is willing to obey Him. He will provide whatever is needed in that person’s life to accomplish whatever the task is. Abraham told Ramses “Let my people go”. God backed him up with great miracles. Yes, God uses ordinary people. Any true minister called of God will readily confess the he is totally dependant upon God in preaching.

There are no perfect people. Only God is perfect. God adds His touch … His anointing. The anointing makes all the difference!

My wife and I used to be a part of a local church here in Fort Wayne. It was not a huge church but it was large … about 1000 attendees. The musicans and choir made some albums which we have. As far as I am concerned they sound every bit as good as well known and popular artists. Here are a couple of examples:

Wouldn’t you agree? And these are just ordinary everyday people just like you and me. However, they have God’s anointing upon them. I hope you get my point. God is just looking for those who are willing to serve Him. He will do the rest.

Speaking of being imperfect but forgiven … it is important that we realize and understand that. We have all heard the saying that Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven. And that is so true. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus … for He is perfect. If and when we look at man we will be disappointed. We will get offended and even hurt. All of us are imperfect and will fail each other. W tend to measure others using them as the measuring tool. That is wrong. Jesus is the measuring tool … not man. We don’t measure up to Him, but it is easy to compare ourselves with others thinking we are better than they are. We may or may not be, but as I said … God uses His perfection as the measuring stick and we all fall short of His glory. We are all sinners and in rebellion against God. We need a Savior …
